Illinois spends big money on recruiting

too bad it didn't pay off this season in football or last year in men's basketball, the two revenue sports. As the commentator in the article notes, Guenther will spend money for recruiting but won't spend money to bring a cupcake team to Champaign for a seventh home game!

Awwwww. Mark Hoekstra (not the real one, mind you) learned how to cut-and-paste. FRG should hire him as his official cut-and-paster.

Now what's the name of that D-1 college where you're such a "competent AD"? Or is it D-2? D-3? JC? High school? Grade school? I've got it -- home school.

Read the article you referenced. Disregarding the Hoekstra comment "I am confused" (the rest of the comment is just a question), the article actually suggests Guenther is a doing a very good job. Because the artice is about economics, could you indicate one economic point from the article that suggests otherwise? I'm not sure how pointing that out helps your argument.

Ron Guenther is an economic genius. Accepts $300K (same amount Tennessee Tech got paid) from Western Michigan, Illinois loses, no bowl game, just 6 home games.
