Coach Guenther Says Oregon wanted BAMM!

Come on Ron, you should have told Bruce to take the job!

"He is an awfully, awfully good basketball coach. Look at our numbers the last 10 years." Hey Ron, how about our numbers the last 3 seasons when the program made the NCAA tournament just once! Or that Illinois has just 1 NCAA tournament win in the past 5 seasons!

Using Oregon as proof of a coach's demand and ability is like bragging because the fat, ugly chick who goes home with everyone gave you her number.

Would've been the best day in Illinois basketball in sometime if he had jumped ship!

Nothing makes someone a hot coaching name than missing the tournament with a team ranked in the top 25 at one time. Career gold I tell you!

Guenther's arrogance never ceases to amaze me? He has taken so much heat for his terible hires (Turner, Grentz, Zook) that he is trying to make Weber out to be Coach K. Sorry, Ron BW is a good guy and decent coach but his record the last 4 years with his own recruits is mediocre at best. As for Zook, we all know he is a lame duck and that we will never have a football program with him in charge. Even you ought to be able to figure that out!!!

Wait....Weber has been at Illinois for 10 years? Apparently, St. Guenther's pride was so hurt by Bill Self that he has convinced himself that those successful years were coached by his butt boy, Bruce Weber! And, when Guenther throws out untruthful comments like that...why doesn't the writer/media call him out on it? I want to live in the delisional world Guenther lives in. I imagine he belives football has been a success under his leadership, too, because the program was successful in the 80's, huh?

Pretty soon Guenther will be taking credit for the 80's and the great run Lou Henson put together. Just for the record, Henson's last 4 years 93-96 (including a Big Ten Coach of the Year Award) are better than Weber's. Yet he pushed Coach Henson into retirement and tries to selss us that BW is a hot commodity. When did Oregon become a national power? Just for the record, ISU just finished first in the Missouri Valley All Sports standings. Take a look at what their AD has done in Men's football, basketball and baseball in just a short time. He is everying RG isn't--positive, charismatic, friendly, outgoing and a great speaker. He would not tolerate for one second the ineptness of a regime like Zook's. Of course, he would never have hired him in the first place. What more can be said--Fire or retire Ron Guenther.
