Lost in all the hoopla over Illinois being bowl-eligible are the facts:
1) This is the first time Illinois has been eligible for a bowl game since Illinois won the Big 10 in 2001.
2) This is just the 5th time in his 16 seasons on the job that the football team is bowl-eligible under the leadership of the best AD in the Country.
3) It was Illinois' first win on Homecoming since 2002.
4) It improved the record of the football team under Coach Guenther to 70-109-2.
