83-128-2

Hey merrymen and ECIMEZs and Guenther lackeys! Do moral victories count towards the 6 "real" wins needed for bowl eligibility?

For how long have you been posting that wins-losses-ties record?

for a while now, far too long actually, thanks to the ineptitude of Lord Guenther.

So rather than listing the wins-losses-ties record once at the end of the season, indicating the success/failure of the program (Guenther's responsibility), you list the wins-losses-ties regularly after games, thus indicating your belief in Guenther's responsibility for the outcome of said games.
Is that correct?

Whats wrong with listing the record. The point is that it is ultimately Guenther's responsbility for the outcome games!! He was the one who hired both Turner and Zook, neither of whom had ever had any sustained success at the collegiate level. Turner had one year of collegiate head coaching. I am a varsity basketball coach and am not a coach or AD killer, but Ron Guenther gets responsibility for the complete disaster that is Illinois football. And if you take away wins over the Southerns, Northerns and San Jose States of the world, the record is even dramatically worse. Right or wrong, fair or unfair, RG deserves the blame for the fiasco that is Illinois football. He hired Ron Turner and Zook, not any one else

How does the record at the end of the season somehow differ from a running total?

Because certain fans (here's looking at you, Hudson, OH) add 4-5 wins every year for effort, having solid measurables, finishing 10th in the Big Ten in revenue, going to the Final Four in '05, you know - stuff every big-time college football program does.

Happy Birthday Ron Guenther!! I hope your day today is as shitty as my 15+ years of watching your football program's product on the field has been! Suck it you pompous a-hole!
