Has Coach Guenther Lost His Marbles on AH Renovation?

Coach Guenther was on WDWS (East Central Illinois Media Elite!) discussing Assembly Hall renovation. As usual, Loren Tate offered up softball questions. But Ron Guenther had the audacity to mention the possibility of playing Illinois games elsewhere while Assembly Hall is renovated.

Great thinking Ron! Give up what has usually been (last year's abortion of a season excepted) a great home-court advantage to play in Carbondale, Normal or Chicago.

Heck, why not play all the home games in St. Louis or Ford Field in Detroit?

I have no idea of what the renovation plans are, but logic would dictate that you couldn't make the level of renovations that would be required in enough time to have the building meet occupancy requirements.

Just another reason why renovation is not an attractive option even if it is the only option.

Seems like you're working to hard to find things to criticize Guenther about.

FRG, how are you liking Northwestern? Is it all that it's cracked up to be?

"Seems like you're working to hard to find things to criticize Guenther about."

Ya think? When you start a blog about the guy, you are already working too hard on some irrational activity.

"irrational activity" defined: opening a renovated football stadium with just 6 home games, playing a game in freaking Detroit, and above all else, calling a student-athlete an "idiot" while sitting on press row. You Guentherphiles need to put away the orange kool-aid.

FRG, you might have a little more credibility if your choice to replace Guenther was someone other than you.
