Nasty Rumor About Fresno State Football Game

First, we keep hearing that ESPN is offering big cash money to move the game at Cincinnati (6 home games) to Turkey Friday. Now we are hearing that Illinois may move its home game (6 home games!) vs. Fresno State to December 5....which would create a conflict with the United Center home game vs. Gonzaga.

The DIA is forcing loyal fans to choose between hoops and football. Even if the DIA moves the basketball game to another date, who the heck is going to sit in Memorial Stadium in December? Ron Guenther, YOU IDIOT!

I'd almost guarantee the UC game will be moved to Sunday or to Sat. night. And really, is there THAT much of a difference between a Nov. 21 game and a Dec. 5 game in terms of weather? It could be a good thing if Illinois is in a bowl game meaning they wouldn't have such a long layoff.

It's official - the football game has been moved to 12/5 per the Sun-Times. Another brilliant move by RG. Between the weather & final exams, the place will probably be half empty, and could end up being our Bowl Game.

What a great idea, scheduling 2 non-conference "warm-up" games after the Big 10 season is over, when the weather is lousy, right before final exams, & the rest of the country is watching conference championships & preparing for bowl games. RG deserves to be the highest paid AD in the country.

I agree this is a great idea, not the long layoff between the end of the season and the bowl game which usually hurts B10 team.

Horrible scheduling. And, no, I don't believe that the UC men's b-ball game will get moved. Bulls always have a night game the same day as the illini UC game.

Maybe the basketball game could be played immediately after the football game, in Memorial Stadium. And the 30,000 fans who show up could sit in the cold for 2more hours. And while they're setting up the court, they could empty the stadium and charge a separate admission.
