No Game Tomorrow=OUTRAGE

It's bad enough we have just 6 home games thanks to Lord Guenther's asinine scheduling. But a bye week on a beautiful Saturday in September? If Coach Guenther had a clue he could have scheduled a home game with North Texas or some other cupcake.

FYI tomorrow's weather in Champaign: high of 78, sunny.

Instead we're not even playing.

North Texas is playing at Alabama tomorrow, and Alabama is paying North Texas $750,000.

If you want Illinois to take the cupcakes away from Alabama and the other football powers, you (FRG) and your tiny flock had better start donating those BIG dollars.

BOGGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, FRG, that's some comeback - not quite witty, not close to intelligent.

But no, I'm not a DIA employee, nor a "competent AD", nor a lawyer. Though some people think you claim to be 2 out the 3.

For the sake of argument, just to show us how smart you really are, how would you have scheduled this year's football season? Seriously, what would it look like from game 1 through 12? 7 or 8 home games? Give us FRG's schedule.

It would be difficult to propose anything worse than this year's schedule.

Oh, c'mon! I'm sure FRG's proposal can be much more so!

Amen. As soons as frg wins a case or two he might be able to afford this.

there is no one at Memorial Stadium today. Will there be anyone there (besides NEOhioIllini and some doctor from Atlanta) on December 5?

We have as many home games in September as we do in December! BOGGLE!

Give frg some credit, he never claimed to be a competent lawyer.

"This has been a difficult decision for me, one I have thought carefully about for some time," Craig Tiley said. "Illinois has provided me with the best possible opportunities that I could have asked for. What we have accomplished here at Illinois would not have been possible without the efforts of everyone involved in the program- from the players, to the support staff, and our great fans. I am sad to be leaving, however the time has come for me both personally and professionally to explore new paths."

"I am looking forward to taking on a significant leadership role in international tennis. I am confident the Illinois tennis program will not miss a beat, and I will do everything in my power to make sure it continues to be the leading model for success in collegiate tennis. I know that RON GUENTHER IS COMMITTED TO CONTINUING THE TRADITION AND GROWING THE PROGRAM - AFTER ALL, HE IS THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS. I am very proud of what we have accomplished at Illinois. It has been an amazing experience and it is hard to say goodbye. I will continue to root on the Illini and watch with pride as the Illinois tennis tradition grows to new levels of success."

I'm hoping your not suggesting that the university loan the DIA money to the DIA to buy a home game. From what I hear about your legal career the university needs to fund the Law School a whole lot better.

I can't believe that there are people who are honestly trying to defend the lack of a game of any sort on a September weekend....and at least one person is trying to use frickin tennis to help strengthen their point of view.

Amazing.

Considering Dancer is running the tennis program into the ground you may want to start using a different quote.

It's fairly simple, no bye this week means the team would be forced to play 11 straight games before getting an off week. The B10 dictates potential off weeks with their schedule which is not put together by the AD/

Four straight years in the sweet 16 for men's tennis is running the program into the ground? Finishing second in the NCAA is running the program into the ground?

The tennis team is going to be lucky if they don't finish in the bottom of the Big 10 this year.

Even one of RG's biggest fans over on the O&B board who follows the tennis program closely admits Dancer has created a huge mess.

I think it's fairly pathetic to crap on the AD and the head tennis coach for something that might happen next spring.

Still waiting for frg's admission that he's an IDIOT for suggesting the FB team play 11 straight games rather than have a bye week last weekend.

We would probably lose to North Texas.
