Why not quit following U of I athletics if you will nit-pick every aspect of the program and whine incessantly about every "issue" you dig up? Save yourself the misery. It's probably taking years off your life.
Just let Guenther do whatever he wants without questioning it! Putting up a fight will only lead to stress!
Whitey, you are dead wrong. Its watching Illinois attempt to play football during the 19 years of the Guenther regime that will take years off your life!!
Its watching a consistently mediocre basketball program that will take years off you life. I am constantly amazed at how the RG supporters rationalize his tenure or should I say regime? It is time for him to retire!!
One final thought. A good football program will generate a lot more revenue than continuing to soak the students.
Who's rationalizing? Who's even sticking up for Guenther or Zook or Weber or anybody else?
All I'm saying is this . . . it's college sports. If you are investing that much of your personal happiness into the athletic achievements of a bunch of college kids, it's time to either find a new interest or step out in front of a semi and end the misery.
Or you could just start rooting for Duke basketball, Florida football and Michigan hockey. Then you'll be a happy camper and still able to function in the actual meaningful aspects of life.
