Does the DIA have a Compliance Officer?

The Ron Guenther Fan Club always talks about how Coach Guenther runs a tight ship and always observes NCAA rules. Let's blow up that myth right here and now!

First, Illinois got slapped with a major violation in its football program several years back (Ron Turner era represent!) when a booster gave impermissible aid to Marcus Mason. Never mind that Mason was a bad player for Illinois....

Now, Illinois screwed up with the t-shirts worn by the men's basketball team when ESPN Game Day was at Assembly Hall. Ron, YOU IDIOT!

Wow, that's simply careless. Getting dinged with a secondary violation probably won't be terribly harmful, but seems that this incident should've been very easy to avoid as well

You would think one of the 30-40 people who could have said something would know it's against the rules for college athletes to wear logos.

Not sure I can blame the DIA marketing department, though, since they're the same idiots who came up with that volleyball-basketball scrimmage monstrosity.

So, will the Ron Guenther zealots now finally quit harping on Bill Self and his "supposed" secondary violations? Looks like Guenther and his cronies are now just as bad as the hated Bill Self! Too bad Self is about 100x more successful than Guenther or any of his coaches will ever be. Ron Guenther, who you crappin'?

And, is the author Marlen Garcia the dumb broad that used to work for the Tribune?
