Assembly Hall Renovation=A Pipe Dream?

Given the woeful state of the economy and the equally woeful state of the men's basketball program, what will Coach Guenther do with Assembly Hall, if anything?

Meantime, I blame Coach Guenther for last week's loss to Minnesota. Great pep speech, Coach Guenther!!! Next time, if you want the fans to make noise, give us more than 6 home games!

I'm shocked you aren't blaming the economic woes on Guenther. Might as well...makes as much sense as your other rants.

So Ron Guenther wants the fans to make more noise? Too bad he removed more than 10,000 seats to make way for unsold suites & club seats. Name one other school that decreased their seating capacity when they renovated their stadium.

Name one school with a 6-1 record but can't even come close to filling even 30,000 seats.

Northwestern is 6-1 & the Ohio State game is sold out. They also have a much smaller enrollment and fan base, and didn't spend $150 million.

Northwestern, huh? That is an interesting choice for an example. I just read that despite its 6-1 record, NU only sells (or gives away) 24,167 tickets per game. That is 51% of capacity and ranks 112th nationally. Boggle!

As for the Ohio State game sellout, 49% of those will be Ohio State fans. BOGGLE!

And as for NU not spending $150 million ... well, Jim Phillips had better start doing a better job at raising money or he will never get his dream job -- Guenther's. This is D-1 football -- it's a business; it's not about winning or losing -- it's all about the money. And if you don't know that, you better go back to the MAC, or if you can't cut that any more, go to the MEAC or the Ohio Valley. Should I type "BOGGLE!" a few more times?
