Guenther's Folly Gets Even Worse

the game will be on ESPN360.com!!! Not on regular television!

As a poster noted on the illiniboard, Guenther really whiffed on this thing.

1. 90% of folks won't be able to watch it.

2. It's basically an "away" game in the state of the opposing team.

3. It's a team you are SUPPOSED to beat and of course they are having a surprisingly good year.

4. This debacle gave us only 6 home games in a year when the schedule was going to be particularly brutal and after spending millions on stadium renovations.

5. If we lose this game and end up not going to a bowl this will be the game that stuck the fork in this frustrating year.

GREAT JOB COACH GUENTHER!

The only thing that will make this game a worse decision then it already is......a loss. That looks more and more possible with each passing week. I hope the team can pull their head out of their ass for once and play an inspired game against Iowa. Otherwise the WMU game will decide whether they are bowling or scoping for high school chicks back home at the mall during the holidays.

Hey moron, it will be on ESPN regional meaning any station in the country can pick it up. It will viewable in almost any area in the state plus some out of state. It's no different than before the Big Ten Network when it was up to individual markets to pick up games. If it's not on in your area, then all your local stations and ask them to pick it up.

It is also a part of the ESPN gameplan package AND will be on ESPN360. Whey don't you check your facts posting your garbage? I guess that would just get in the way of your agenda.

From Asmussen's Chat:
"So far, no over-the-air station in central Illinois has picked the game up, but the folks at ESPN Plus are working on it. You might not know until late next week.

The game will be part of ESPN's Game Plan, which you can get on satellite dishes and some cable systems. You might be able to pay a one-day fee to get Illinois and a bunch of other games. Check with your television provider. I will keep checking this and provide updates in The News-Gazette and on IlliniHQ. Like you, I am very curious about it.

The reason the game isn't being shown on the BTN or ESPN is because the MAC owns the rights."

I'd place more credence in this than an IB poster who has no link or back-up info.

You can pay for it in Central Illinois if you have Comcast and a digital box. Too bad I have piisant Cass County Cable who won't even offer the Big 10 Network. Oh well.
