OUTRAGE! Bruce Weber to Get Pay Raise!
Two seasons ago, Weber "led" Illinois basketball to the most losses in school history. This season, the team performed much better (NCAA tournament) that ended with a thud with our mid-major coach being thoroughly outcoached by a rookie mid-major coach.
Now, Ron Guenther, BEST AD IN THE COUNTRY!!!!, is giving Weber a pay raise? Here is the agenda item from the UI Trustees. Further, according to this article, Weber's pay raise is a whopping 50%!!!! Why is Ron Guenther awarding a mediocre performance? Why is he extending this guy's contract to 2015?
For all you zealots, where would Weber be going if he didn't get this pay raise and contract extension after his performance the last two seasons? Answer: NOWHERE.
Hey Ron Guenther! How about spending this money instead to get a 7th home football game?

How does a mediocre lawyer who loses cases when the facts are in his favor stay employed?

It wasn't the worst record in Illinois BB history as they play about 50% more games now.
More Johnny Cochran like "facts" from frg. Though that's they only similarity frg has with him as Cochran actually won a case or two.
Meh. He's turned recruiting around and has a nice nucleus coming back next year after shocking this commenter with an NCAA appearance. Now...they should have taken some of his raise and added it to Jerrance Howard's raise to ensure he doesn't leave for anything less than a head coaching gig.
How much will BAMM get paid if he ever wins an NCAA tournament game again?
